RATTAN CARE TIPS & TRICKS!

Tip 1: Clean

To keep your rattan free of dirt, dust and spills, it's a good idea to give it a clean occasionally. The best way to do this is to dust or wipe your rattan down with a soft microfibre cloth that is slightly damp. Once you have cleaned your rattan, leave it in soft sunlight for a few hours to remove any moisture! Use a soft brush to get into all those rattan nooks and crannies for a deeper clean! It is always best to avoid using any abrasive cleaning products as these can cause long term damage to rattan.

Tip 2: Store 

Although our rattan is designed to be used outdoors and loves a big alfresco adventure, it is best not to leave or store it in the sun for lengthy periods as this can lead to discolouration and brittleness. While we are talking about storage, our advice is that rattan is best stored indoors out of any wet weather & the elements! When not in use, keeping your rattan indoors will add years to its life!

Tip 3: Care 

If your rattan "accidentally" gets wet (curious little kids, we're looking at you!), leave it to dry in soft sunlight for a few hours to remove any moisture and voila, it will be good as new again! Rattan is a natural fibre, which is why we love it so. However, natural fibres can attract mould when placed in a highly humid or moist environment.

The best way to treat natural rattan with areas of mould is with a spray bottle containing an 80/20 mix of water and white vinegar. Lightly spray the area of concern (you can use a toothbrush to clean any nooks and crannies gently), leave for ten minutes, and then gently wipe clean with a soft, damp microfibre cloth. Place in soft sunlight to dry.

Last week, we introduced a new addition to the claycountyduilawyers family! WARES by claycountyduilawyers is our debut apparel collection for women and small folk! WARES is an ethically produced collection, made from softest 100% organic double gauze cotton. It is all about effortless, everyday wear, for women at different stages of life. This week, we introduced you all to our very first apparel collection; WARES by claycountyduilawyers! WARES is us a collection of effortless every day wear for women and small folk, ethically manufactured and made from organic cotton. We are so proud of this collection and all the work that went in behind the scenes to make it happen! We're so proud in fact, that we wanted to share with you a few special moments shared by our fantastic team behind our WARES photoshoots, photographed by Lisa Sorgini and Amelia Fullarton.

Day One!

We were lucky enough to have two of our fave photographers work on the shoots for our WARES campaign.
This is Ameila Fullarton doing what she does best with our lovely model Breanna, nailing the studio shots!  

Chloe’s daughter, Nell is our dream claycountyduilawyers girl. It was a no-brainer that she just had to be one of our kiddo models when shoot day rolled around, these dresses were made for her!

After our studio moment, we moved onto a beautiful house so Amelia could capture some lifestyle imagery. The home belongs to one of our friends and is set high amongst the gum trees in Broken Head, near Byron Bay. We didn’t want to leave! We invited some of our local pals over to try on the new collection.

We finished off the day with some gorgeous locations around this sleepy little town. 

Day Two!

Day two kicked off in New Brighton in the gardens of a cute seaside house. Today we shot with Lisa Sorgini and a bunch of beautiful mommas and their sweet kiddos. Croissants and fruit platters, essential. Kelly, Casey, Chelsea and Molly make the most stunning real models.

After our morning picnic, we headed over to our friend, Claudia’s house (dream home!)
to capture some moments with her and her daughter Bindi.
